Generative Story R+D
Exploring generative tools for storytelling, concepting, and filmmaking.
Compass is a system for mapping how inner experience becomes action — how awareness, capacity, and alignment shape the choices we make, and how those choices ripple outward into the realities we live within.
Projection reimagines Plato's Allegory of the Cave inside a movie theater — each viewer's inner world projected onto the shared screen, until one awareness shifts and cannot shift the others.
Commercial Workflow

How inner experience becomes action.
Compass began with a simple observation: the conflicts we see in the world often mirror the ones we carry within ourselves.
Over seven years of journaling, reflection, and inquiry, it developed into a system for understanding how inner experience unfolds — how awareness, emotional capacity, and alignment shape the choices we make, and how those choices ripple outward into the relationships and realities we create together.
The system illuminates the invisible processes through which thoughts, emotions, and impulses become actions — and the points along that path where genuine choice is possible.
The hope is straightforward: that greater clarity, responsibility, and compassion within individuals can gradually translate into greater coherence in the shared world we create together.
SEQUENCE
Emergence of experience
Human experience begins with stillness. From stillness, thoughts, emotions, and impulses arise. What arises meets one's capacity — the fluctuating scope of what can be worked with in the moment. Before a conscious decision is made, there is alignment: a pre-decisional orientation, often felt as a subtle leaning toward or away from what arises.
From there, choice becomes action, and action creates consequence. Consequence reverberates — feeding back into the stillness from which everything arose, influencing what happens next.
Emptiness → Arising → Capacity → Alignment → Choice → Action → Consequence → Reverberation ↩
THE FIELD
Where choice becomes possible
Agency exists where awareness and capacity overlap: what can be seen, and what can be held. This field of agency may expand or contract depending one’s state of consciousness, quietly adjusting the range of available choices.
One cannot choose what they cannot see. And one cannot see beyond their current capacity. Reaching outside the field — toward what was or what might be — produces tension. The field is always now.
Awareness functions like a lantern — illuminating a portion of experience, but never the whole field. Capacity defines the lantern's reach.
TERRAINS
Where experience is lived
All experience is felt through the Ocean — the underlying emotional field that runs beneath everything. It is not a terrain we move through, but the medium through which all terrains are experienced. Learning to navigate the Ocean is what makes every other terrain navigable.
Within that field, Compass maps six recurring environments: Desert, Jungle, Mountain, Forest, Fire, and Meadow. Each carries its own quality — the patience required by emptiness, the disorientation of complexity, the vertigo of ambition, the darkness of uncertainty, the heat of transformation, the stillness of sufficiency.
We rarely inhabit just one. Terrains layer and shift — overlapping the way notes do in a chord, forming a single lived experience out of multiple simultaneous ones. We return to familiar terrains throughout life. What changes is not which ones we move through, but how — with greater awareness, and increasing capacity to navigate what we find there.

Human experience begins in stillness.
From that stillness, thoughts, emotions, and impulses arise, moving through capacity and alignment into choice, action, and consequence — shaping what unfolds and what returns.
EMPTINESS (stillness)
ARISING (thoughts, emotions, impulses)
CAPACITY (range of what’s possible)
ALIGNMENT (how we internally orient)
CHOICE (what is selected)
ACTION (what is expressed)
CONSEQUENCE (what results)
REVERBERATION (feedback)Emptiness → Arising → Capacity → Alignment → Choice → Action → Consequence → Reverberation

Where choice becomes possible
The field of agency is where choice lives.
Agency exists where awareness and capacity overlap — what can be seen and what can be held.
As both expand, so does the range of choices available in any moment.
Constraints
You cannot choose what you cannot see.
You cannot see beyond your current capacity of the moment.
Dynamics
Awareness without capacity → insight without change
Capacity without awareness → habit / autopilot
Awareness + capacity → choice becomes possible
Function
Awareness functions like a lantern — it illuminates a portion of experience, but never the whole field. Capacity defines this lanterns reach.

Where experience is lived
Compass maps experience across seven recurring environments called Terrains.
🌊 Ocean — The foundational terrain, the space where we learn to be with and navigate emotional experience. It underlies all others.
🏜 Desert — Patience, Endurance, Emptiness
🌳 Jungle — Overwhelm, complexity
⛰ Mountain — Striving, comparison, ambition
🌲 Forest — Uncertainty, darkness, fear
🔥 Fire — Transformation, loss
🌾 Meadow — Presence, simplicity, sufficiency
We move through these terrains in layered and shifting ways, often experiencing multiple at once — like overlapping notes in music forming a single, lived experience.
We return to familiar terrains with greater awareness, learning to navigate them with increasing clarity.
Compass also includes a toolkit that functions as a simple internal tool, guiding how we embody, inquire, and choose through each terrain.
-
Compass offers three interrelated tools:
1. Embodiment (Body Tool)
Regulates the nervous system and restores presence through:
Breath
Contact points (sensation)
Movement / Stillness
2. Inquiry (Mind Tool)
Clarifies thought-patterns and reduces identification:
Naming thoughts without fusing with them
Observing mental stories as passing clouds
Questioning assumptions
3. Choice (Heart Tool)
Orients action toward coherence and relational care:
Love vs Fear-based direction
Integrity over impulse
Long-term relational awareness
These tools operate in a loop:
Embodiment → Inquiry → Choice → Embodiment

The underlying realization
All of Compass points to a simple movement: returning inward rather than seeking outward.
When we resist what arises, experience fragments into conflict.
When we allow and meet it directly, that conflict dissolves.
Nothing new is added.
What obscures clarity is released.
Beneath all thoughts, emotions, and patterns is a constant field of awareness—unchanged, and always present.
Every part of Compass is simply a way of returning to that.

AI short film exploring awakening.
A movie theater. Hundreds of audience members wearing hypnotic glasses — each one projecting their inner experience onto the shared screen. The film they're watching is them.
One character's awareness shifts inward without warning. The trance breaks. They look around at the others — still under — and discover the first uncomfortable truth: you cannot wake someone who isn't willing. Gnosis doesn't transfer.
In search of an exit, they enter a tunnel of complete darkness. No projections. No reference points. Only the instruction to know thyself — navigated blind. The tunnel leads back to the exact same theater. There is no elsewhere to escape to.
What changes is how they take their seat. No longer projecting inner shadow onto the shared screen — something else now moves through them. The film ends with a simple message to the audience: Enjoy the show. In the rows nearby, another awareness stirs.
Projection explores perception, collective reality, and the realization that the human experience cannot be escaped — only engaged with more consciously. Developed using generative AI tools including Midjourney and Runway Gen-3 to prototype environments, characters, and cinematic moments.

Exploring generative systems for visual concepting and campaign development.
Generative tools are integrated into my campaign workflow to explore visual ideas and accelerate early concept development.
External models are used to prototype compositions and narrative directions during ideation, while Netflix’s native generative system can be used to produce artwork designed for release across the platform.
Together, these tools extend the art direction process — enabling rapid visual exploration while maintaining the craft required for large-scale campaigns.
